What's the best no-kill shelter to rehome my beloved dog safely?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 2 years old | 78.8 lbs

What is the best shelter to give him too I heard the rspca kill 75% of dogs they rescue so that’s a no go I don’t want him to get put down he’s so freindly and loving he can be perfect for someone he just needs training I’ve had him since 6 weeks old it breaks my heart to get rid of him but I have too many dogs and I believe it’s best for him to go to a home that can give him the attention he needs I don’t want to sell him as shelters do home checkes which is why I want him to go to a shelter

I'm sorry that you have to give up Spring, and even though it sounds like it's a hard thing for you to do, you are making the best decision for him. The RSPCA does it's best to get every animal in their shelters a home, and given that he is a young dog, he does have a better chance to being adopted. You can also see if there are any no-kill shelters in your area. No-kill shelters will keep the animal until they can find it a home. I hope this helps!

I can undeerstand that you are very sad, however I have to commend you for wanting the best for your puppy. You are a responsible person who realised that this is not the time for raising a puppy and therefore, rather than being selfish and letting the puppy suffer for it, you have decided to rehome it to a home where they have time for her. I suggest you stay in contact with her new people so you can visit her sometimes and see how well she is doing. So , while it is sad, don't be sad as she will have a happy life in her new home. You can be proud of yourself for making this decision!

I need to know what my options are. My dog attacked my 3 year old niece and he can't stay here anymore. She had to get 10 stitches. I can't get a shelter to take him. What do I do?
I am sorry to hear about your niece and your current situation. I am not sure what shelter with which you spoke, but seeing as you live in the Scranton PA area, there should definitely be a city or county shelter that takes in stray and abandoned animals. Unfortunately, many if not all of these types of facilities are kill shelters. Depending on how time sensitive this issue is for you, you can certain begin to look for a new home for Reggie, obviously trying to find a home without children. Another option would be to take to a veterinarian for euthanasia. Unfortunately, we are sometimes placed in positions where we are forced to put down young, healthy dogs due to aggression. Lastly, you can try to seek out some breed-specific rescues based on the type of mix Reggie is. These rescues are usually more willing to take on challenging cases like the one you have on your hands. Hope this helps.

If they are friendly you could trot take some pictures of them yourself and try to put them on social media to find them a home. Also, you could look for a no kill shelter in your area so you know they wont put a time limit on their adoption. I hope this helps!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Panda. If you do not have a friend or family member that can care for her, then I would consider finding a rescue group to rehome her. There are many available in most regions of the country. They should work on her anxiety issues and help to find her an ideal home. They will typically put an effort into her behavioral issues than a shelter can. I hope this information helps!

If you plan to rehome Midnight the best option. Is for her to stay with you while you post adds and interview potential new owners. This will ensure she goes to a good home. You can speak to your local veterinarian about local avenues for posting adds, such as the newspaper, local dog parks, or even the vet's office bulletin board. Another option is Craigslist or other internet sources. Use caution and do not invite strangers into your home when conducting interviews. Instead meet in a public place. Have a list of questions to ask so you can asses whether each potential new owner seems like a good fit. Best of luck in finding Midnight a forever home.

I'm sorry to hear of their predicament. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find shelters willing to take on additional dogs. They may have better luck finding breed specific rescues willing to take on Chihuahuas. They may need to search outside of the proximity they have been considering, and start looking significantly further if they are intent on relocating the dog to a safe and happy home. In terms of treatment for anxiety and separation, I think the first thing they need to do is try to make Uki feel as comfortable as possible. If the dog isn't crate-trained, they need to get this done as soon as possible. Giving Uki his own space that he can make his den will give him a comfort zone that he may find as a nice area to settle down. Once this exists, this will be where he needs to stay during times when he is alone. In terms of treatment for separation, there are several natural and several pharmaceutical methods to deal with it. I usually recommend more natural methods

Gracie is precious! I would talk to your vet about if they know anyone that is looking for a puppy. Also, most vets will allow you do put up a picture in their bulletin board if they have one. Also, you can ask your friends and family in Facebook or social media to help you find her a good home. These are routes you can take that will help find her a home to someone you might know or a family/friend might know. It may help give you comfort in knowing she is going to a good home. Finally, you may look up pit bull rescues in your area to see if any of them are accepting new puppies. They usually have strict guidelines for finding new owners. I hope this helps!

First off, I'm so sorry you have to make this decision! It's a very hard one to make, but it likely is best for the safety of your baby especially if he put your brother in the hospital before with a bite. I can say honestly that dogs who are aggressive are not recommended to be rehomed due to the safety risks. I'm not sure that lead Henry to bite your brother, but you need to be honest with the animal charity about that situation. They may want to do evaluations with an animal behavioral expert before deciding if it's safe to rehome him. Sometimes it does happen that a dog needs to be put down for the safety of everyone, and you don't want to keep a dog who can potentially hurt your baby. Ultimately you have to put the safety of your baby first as hard as it is, and removing him from the home is likely best. Again, I'm sorry you are in this position!

They often have a list of clients seeking pets. Other avenues would involve your local humane society, pet rescue groups, etc. These groups often screen potential adopters and would be a great resource. I know this is very tough for you, but if you get the right people involved, everyone will feel better in the end knowing that they were placed into good homes. Good luck

Hello. It may be, but you need to do what is right for you. If you can find a kind & patient individual to adopt Olivia, she may do fine. Many shelters & humane societies will work with foster homes to hopefully keep Olivia out of a more stressful shelter situation. But do try to keep Olivia with you as best you can.
