My outdoor cat looks fat. Is she pregnant without a vet visit?

My cat is looking fatter than usaual and she's an outside cat so I want to know how to tell if she is pregnant with going to a vet because we don't live close enough to one

Unfortunately there is no definitive way to tell if Kosher is pregnant or not without having her seen by a vet. Cats can have false pregnancies which mimic the signs of pregnancy except the cat isn't actually pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to have x-rays or an ultrasound done by a vet. A cat's pregnancy typically lasts between 58-68 days, so you won't have to wait too long to find out if she is going to have kittens or not. Best of luck.

Cats are pregnant for about 65 days on average. Unfortunately, there isn't any easy way to tell how far along she is, but your best option would be to have your veterinarian examine her and take x-rays. Keep in mind that we cannot tell on x-ray that they are pregnant until they are 45 days along, so your veterinarian may recommend waiting on that depending on what they feel on exam. If I cannot get her to a vet how can I wait and see if my cat is pregnant.
You can watch for signs like a distended abdomen as she gets closer to delivery. A cat will be pregnant for about 2 months. However, if you cat is intact and has gotten outside chances are very good that she is pregnant. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. Best of luck.

If she mated 80 days ago then it is unlikely she is pregnant from that mating as the average gestation is about 65 days. You could have a vet examine her and do an ultrasound or x-rays to see if she is pregnant.

If this kitty has been at the shelter for months, the vet will likely know she isn't pregnant because she wouldn't have had opportunity to mate with a male cat. Females and males will be kept separately to prevent them from mating and producing more kittens that need a home. Because a cat's pregnancy lasts 58-68 days, if she has been in the shelter longer than that, she won't be pregnant unless she had contact with a male cat. It could be she is experiencing a false pregnancy, which is when a cat appears pregnant but doesn't actually have kittens. It's thought that hormonal imbalance plays a role in this occurring. Hi, if your cat has mated with another cat there is a 99% chance that she is pregnant. If you don’t know if your cat has mated pregnancy can be detected on physical examination after the first half of pregnancy and sometimes earlier on with an ultrasound. The best thing would be to have her checked over and your vet will be able to advise you accordingly. Hope this helps !

You can try to feel for moving kittens by placing your hand on her belly. That is about the only way you can tell without seeing your vet. Also if her mammary glands get enlarged this is another clue. Feed her kitten food now if you suspect that Nibbles is pregnant to help her produce an appropriate milk supply, and continue this diet until she weans all the kittens (around 3-4 weeks of age).

How do i know that my female cat is pregnant?
That could be diagnosed at around 25th day of pregnancy by quite expert ultrasonographers, or possibly later (36-40th day) with abdominal radiographs or manual palpation. Unfortunately only the ultrasound can give you information about the vitality of the kittens. There are hormonal tests available as well, but not everywhere and cost could be higher. Hello. According to the fact that the gestation period of cats is approximately 65 days, is it possible for a cat to last its pregnancy longer than this time? I have been seeing my cat, which is not actually a pet, with bulging abdomen around 2 month
Average gestation is 64-67 days but it can last longer. I have seen a cat go to 72 days but it is really uncommon for that to happen. She may not be pregnant. The abdomen could be full of fluid (ascites), she could have a tumor inside the abdomen, she could be full of worms (like roundworms); those are just things I can think of off the top of my head. If she has been the same size for two months I would be more worried that there is something else going on and not pregnancy. So, it is hard to say exactly what is happening here. Is it possible for you to take her to a vet? If so, I would do that. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

If Pulgosa is pregnant her abdomen might be distended but you also might notice that her mammary glands are starting to look developed. If you think she may be at least 45 days pregnant your veterinarian might be able to take an x-ray to determine whether or not she is pregnant, and could also perform a physical exam which would be the first step to determine whether or not she may have a medical condition.
