My dog has a purple swollen bump on her chest. What is it?

I just noticed my dog has a golf ball size purple swollen bump on her chest arm pit area it just random showed up what could it be im not able to take her to the vet til mid next week she it walking fine and an hour or so after I notice it it popped and leaked blood and clear puss

It could be that Chevy has an abscess or a cyst that has ruptured. Gently clean the area with warm water and antiseptic soap, and keep the area clean and dry. Have her seen by a vet as soon as you can so it can be treated correctly. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

It could be an abscess, it could also be a tumor, you must take him to the vet in order to get that treated, the fur in that area must be clipped off completely, the wound needs to be cleaned and analysed. if it is an abscess a course of antibiotics will solve the problem.

I just noticed some odd growths on my 2 year old Pugs chest. I squeezed one and some liquid came out the side but just a tiny bit. They are above her nipples in a square on her chest. What could they be?
Are you sure this is not a nipple? Nipples can be up all the way on the chest. If this is not a nipple then these may be pimples (little abscesses), cysts or tumors. You should have them examined by your veterinarian as tumors should be removed ASAP, especially if they are of a black color (likely melanoma). Abscesses can usually be treated with antibiotics and/or be lanced, and cysts can be evacuated. Your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning.

I have a 9 year old female shepherd. She never had any health problem. But now suddenly she has a round bump on her chest. And it feels cold when i touch it. And she feels no pain when i press it.
This lump should be checked out by a veterinarian. I suspect it is some type of tumor, or it could be an abscess or infection (though less likely as she's not painful). A tumor could be benign, meaning that it doesn't need treatment at all, or that surgical removal alone would cure the problem, or it could be malignant, meaning that surgical removal alone may not solve the issue. Take her to the vet. Your vet will likely do a "fine needle aspirate" which is when we poke a skin lump with a needle to get a sample of the cells, then squirt those cells out onto a microscope to look at it. Based on findings, your vet will be able to advise you of what treatment, if any, is needed. Thank you for asking Boop by Petco!

What is this protruding pouch on dog's mid chest. Not a teat. Previously was smaller, wrinkled, cool to touch. Seems to come out of a small, pencil eraser sized hole. In past two days has become warm and swollen, about the size of a large kumquat. N
This is a tumor/growth. If it has changed rapidly in size, it may be starting to have a pocket of fluid inside. I cannot tell you if this growth is benign or malignant by looking at it. Your veterinarian can perform a needle aspirate to obtain a sample of cells to look at which may help you to determine the likelihood of a malignancy. Whether this is benign or malignant, it may be something you would want to have surgically removed. Even benign growths that continue to grow can be problematic...they can become infected or bleed. Unfortunately, even in person I would be hard pressed to give you a diagnosis based only on appearance. When a client comes in with a pet that has an unknown mass, we typically consider the following as possibilities, taking many factors into account: a mass/tumor, an abscess, a cystic structure, an insect bite, an allergic reaction, or a bruise from trauma. If the structure has burst open, it is most likely not allergic or from an insect. Depending upon your dog's age, the time the lump has existed, the consistency of the fluid you have noted, and the presence / absence of any other clinical signs, one of the other options is most likely. Something the vet might be able to do is obtain some cellular material from the affected area, place it under a microscope, and see if there is any cellular material that is useful in obtaining a diagnosis. I’m wondering if this is just a pimple on my dog (on right side of chest) or something else? He’s a Doxle
It appears to be a cyst like lesion kind of like a pimple. Try squeezing it to get it to pop. Then rub it with a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide. If it starts to get bigger (doubles in size) then take Parker to see a vet to examine it.

Our 4 month old puppy had a red bump on her chest. Now about 3/4 days later is bigger and has rough feeling to it
It could be a skin infection, allergic dermatitis, or possibly a histiocytoma. Have your vet examine her to determine the cause. Your vet can do a needle aspirate to help diagnose and then determine if treatment is needed. Histiocytomas affect young dogs and usually resolve with no treatment.

My 9 year old female spayed pug in good health, well cared for and not over weigh, has a small flesh colored bump about 1/4 inch on her side chest. Has drained. Seems to cause no pain when touched. It appeared about a year ago. I treated it with tea
If you've noticed it drain before, then it is a cyst. These usually occur when a gland is blocked and material builds up in the skin. They can go away and then come back. The only real cure for it is to have it surgically removed, but this is not usually indicated. The warm water compress may help it to rupture and drain again, but no guarantees. We usually advise benign neglect (ignoring it) and just watching it for any changes in growth or appearance. These often go away on their own after some time. I hope that helps.

Hi im worried about my dog. She has some kind of lesion or something on her chest i noticed it two days ago but it has gotten bigger since then any idea of what it can be ive taken a photo of it
The photo isn't very clear, and it can be hard to diagnose something without atually seeing and feeling it. Possibilities include bacterial infection, ringworm, itching from fleas, mites, cancer, among other things. If it is continuing to get bigger, I recommend that Princess see a vet to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment. Your vet may want to test for bacteria or fungus, do a skin scrape to check for mites, or a cytology to look at a small sample of cells under the microscope.

My dog got hurt he is 3 yrs old. He had this red hard round thing on his chest. He got sctrached when he was trying to get up the tree and a few days later that sctrached got big and hard what can I do
This is most likely just an abrasion that your dog got from going up the tree. If the area is hot and/or swollen it may be infected and you would need to take your dog to the vet to get some antibiotics to help it clear up. If you do not think it is swollen you can try cleaning it daily with some dilute hydrogen peroxide and applying some antibiotic ointment on it.
