Dog's snout has growing bumps and he vomited. Should I go to vet?

Hi, so an hour ago I noticed some odd bumps on my dog's snout. Now that I'm checking them they seem to be a bit bigger? He vomited earlier today, but acts normal. Should I be worried? Could it just be an insect bite that took some time to show up or something like that, or should I go to a vet first thing in the morning? The first photo is from when I first noticed it, the second I took just now, the third for comparison.

I see what you mean about the bumps on Harold's nose. It could be from an insect bite, or he could be suffering from an allergic reaction. Keep an eye on the bumps, if they keep getting bigger, his face starts swelling, he has difficulty breathing, and/or he goes into respiratory distress, this is a medical emergency and he will need to see a vet right away. If the bumps remain overnight and do not getting bigger but are still there in the morning, yes then I would take him into a vet first thing. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

These look like an allergic reaction within the skin and as long as she is not agitated and there is no vomiting, panting or sneezing I would continue to monitor at home. Contact your nearest emergency vet if any changes develop

Thank you for using Boop by Petco and I am sorry that Herb has this bump near his nose. From the picture you have sent the "bump" appears to be a skin growth, though it may also be an insect bite. There are several types off masses that can grow in the skin of dogs such as cysts and lipomas. Some are benign and some are malignant, so careful observation is important, as well as having a vet examine it if you are concerned. Since you only just noticed the bump, I would continue to monitor it for growth, ulceration, changes in texture or color. Measure the mass with a ruler so you can compare its growth in a couple weeks time. Rapidly growing masses are more concerning. In the meantime you can try a cool compress a few times a day, in case the bump is associated wth an insect bite or an infection/ inflammation of the skin. If after two weeks the bump is still present and especially if it has grown, I would advise a trip to the veterinarian for analysis. The vet will Most likely yse a

You are right, it could be an insect bite. If it's daytime where you are, I would take Shiloh into a vet now. If it's nighttime, you can wait until the morning, but rush him into an ER vet if his face starts swelling more, he gets hives, or have trouble breathing. I hope this helps!

Bumps like this are usually a hypersensitivity response to an allergen. Also it could be bug bites that are having a localized reaction. I would recommend monitoring these areas to see if they continue to grow in size or cause pain/irritation. If they do start causing irritation for Snow, then you can place a cold compress on the area for 5 mins tonight and then get Snow seen by your vet tomorrow for further care, if it is still bothersome for Snow. Hello. Sudden onset of raised skin in circles about the size of a penny or a nickle, as well as a swollen face around the eyes and the lips is TYPICALLY due to an allergic reaction to a bug bite. It can also be caused by other things as well. The swelling can continue to get worse and can end up obstructing the airway- so for this reason we recommend you have him seen by a vet right away. If the swelling stops and starts to go down then you can monitor him, however if it continues to get worse or if he has trouble breathing, then get him seen immediately, or if there is any vomiting.

My puppy just turned 4 months. A few weeks ago I noticed a small bump on his snout, it has continued to grow. It doesn't seem painful, and it's firm. I wanted to know if I should take him to an animal hospital or just make an appt with my vet? Pic #1
If the area has continued to grow, I would definitely recommend having the area assessed by your veterinarian. If it is bothersome or itchy (by the looks of it, I would assume that it is since it appears to be inflamed), I would advise that you get Pepper a cone to wear in the mean time in order to prevent her from digging and scratching at the lesion. In terms of treatment, your vet will likely want to shave around the affected lesion, clean it, and possible obtain some impression smears and cytology to assess the cause. Antibiotics (topical and/or systemic) and anti-inflammatory medication may be useful depending on the findings. Hope this helps!

Good morning. The bump on Toby's nose could be due to a number of things including an insect bite, inflammation, infection or less likely, a tumor. If the bump is not resolving within a few days, if it enlarges or if Toby develops any new symptoms such as nasal discharge, sneezing or lethargy, he should be seen by a veterinarian.

Hi. I'm so sorry about Leo, and your son. Unfortunately, these look pretty severe, and if they are coming up quickly, it could be some kind of allergic reaction. But they look possibly infected as well. Therefore, the best thing would be to get her in. If that isn't possible until morning, you can try benadryl 50mg by mouth.

I’m not sure what happened but she was fine and when I got back home her nose had a big bump on it and there’s other little bumps that look like hey have bled maybe.
Ouch, poor Dahlilah! It could be that she injured herself while you are gone, causing this big bump and other little bumps that look like they may have bled. It could also be an allergic reaction. I would try placing a cold compress on the large bump to see if that helps with the swelling, and keep an eye on her for now. If this swelling increases, other bumps appear, her muzzle start becoming swollen, and/or she has difficulty breathing, I would take her into an ER vet right away. If there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Otherwise, have her seen by a vet on Monday if the bump is still present but hasn't gotten bigger or smaller. I hope this helps!

My dog has bumps on the top of his nose. It appears another one has popped up. They are black like his nose.
A couple of things come to mind as possibilities. This could be an acute hypersensitivity reaction to something - bug bite/sting, perhaps - or possibility a severe bacterial infection called furunculosis. There are also some immune-mediated/auto-immune diseases that attack the top of the nose. See your vet about this. An appropriate treatment plan might be to start antibiotics and if no improvement after 2 weeks consider a biopsy to obtain a definitive diagnosis.
