Dog has a painful paw lump, limping and whining. What should I do?

My dog has a tiny lump on his paw. He was ok when we took him out n now he is limping and whining.

Poor Arnie! It sounds like his paw is hurting him, and the lump could be from a foreign body like a grass seed or foxtail, an infection, or an injury. Pain is causing him to limp and whine, so I would give your vet a call to set up an appointment to have him seen. Until you can get him into his vet, limit his activity since he's painful and only take him out to potty. Bring him right back in when he's done. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

My dog has a pea sized ball-like hairless, skin colored lump on the top of his front paw. He has been limping on it for quite some time.
This lump looks like it could be a cyst or other skin growth or tumor, and I doubt it is related to the limping. The limping more likely would be related to arthritis, previous trauma or other joint disease. I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian. They can examine the lump and may recommend taking a sample using a small needle to determine what it is. They can also examine Moose's leg and may recommend taking x-rays.

Hi. I have a 6 year old boxer who has about a 3/4 inch black mark on his right paw and a small bump within it. He is limping on it but not whining or anything even when he hobbles on it.
It could be an infection or a mass so he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, or the mass may need to be removed. Schedule an examination with your vet to have it evaluated. You could also soak his paw in a warm Epsom Salt solution and see if that help.

I'm sorry but it is very difficult for me to tell what is going on in this photo. Does it look like a soft nail coming out of the foot there? If so, that is called a cutaneous horn. All you need to do is keep it trimmed with some nail clippers. If it is an actual mass/tumor then you need to have your vet take a look at it. If you would like to post again with some closer up photos (we really can't do much enlargement of the photos) then we may be able to help you better.

My dog fell over while having a run earlier today and now has a hardish lump on her leg, she doesnt like me touching it and she is limping quite a bit
Please make an appointment to have Tammh seen by a vet as soon as possible. She is likely in pain, and may have a muscular or nerve injury, a fractured bone, a mass, or a foreign body in the leg. Your vet can assess the leg during the physical exam and may recommend x-rays to help determine the cause of Tammh’s limp. Pain medications meant for humans can be very dangerous (and even deadly) for dogs, so I do not recommend giving any to Tammh without consulting with your vet.

Ptolemy started limping yesterday suddenly for no reason, I have thoroughly felt up his leg and foot and he is pain free yet will not put any weight on his front leg. He doesnt cry or do anything when he touches it down and yet still will hardly put
Limping itself can be an indication of pain, as dogs do not usually avoid putting weight on one of their legs for no reason, so please make an appointment to have Ptolemy seen by a veterinarian. Causes of the limping could be trauma, a muscular or nerve injury, a fractured bone, an injured or overgrown toenail, a tumour/mass, or a foreign body embedded in the paw or leg. Some infectious diseases such as Lyme disease and joint diseases such as arthritis or joint infection can cause limping as well. If the limping becomes worse, I recommend seeing a vet right away, either at another clinic or at an emergency hospital. If not, and if Ptolemy is otherwise comfortable (eating, drinking, peeing, pooping normally, normal activity levels) then you can make an appointment to have Ptolemy seen by your regular vet when they are available. I recommend keeping him in a crate or in a room where he can't run/ jump on anything and only taking him out for very short bathroom breaks. Make sure he's on a

Hi our spaniel has started holding his right paw in the air when sitting or resting. No obvious limp and he is running ok. No yelping when I examine his pads or feet
It could be that Lester has injured his paw, or he has a foreign body in it such as a foxtail or grass seed causing him to hold it up when sitting or resting. I recommend resting Lester for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. My dog got a sudden limp when i checked to see the problem I noticed a small amount of dry blood between his toes but he won’t let me look at the area and he won’t use his paw to walk with what can I do to help him
Limping can be an indication of pain, so please make an appointment to have Bear seen by a veterinarian. Causes of the limping could be trauma, a muscular or nerve injury, a fractured bone, an injured or overgrown toenail, a tumour/mass, or a foreign body embedded in the paw or leg. Some infectious diseases such as Lyme disease and joint diseases such as arthritis or joint infection can cause limping as well. The blood makes me think that there may be something stuck in the paw or that a toenail may be injured. Take him out only for short walks on a leash just to pee and poo. In the meantime, don't let him run around or jump. If Bear is crate trained, keep him crated to prevent him from jumping or running. If he's not crate trained, keep him in a small area where he can't run or jump onto/ off of furniture. If he will let you, you can try soaking the paw in a small container with warm water and hypoallergenic shampoo for dogs to clean away any debris, followed by rinsing in warm water.

I noticed leo was limping after returning from his daily night walk and when I examined his paw, I observed this (pics attached) on his left front paw. He seemed fine before tonight. What could this be? Should I be concerned?

My 6 year old rotty appeared the other day limping with a lump on right front leg, we keep him in the backyard and 3 days have gone by and the bump looks bigger
