My dog had diarrhea, now hasn't pooped in 3 days. Is he constipated?

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 10 months old | 4.5 lbs

My dog is a Maltese who recovered from a stomach flu on 4/16. He had diarrhea and watery stools at the time. Since 4/16 he started feeling better and started to eat. However, it had been 3 days (72 hours) and it is now 4/19, and he still had not take a stool. Is it normal? If not what should I do?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This can be normal if for example he had not eaten in several days before he restarted eating or he is or he was on medications for diarrhea which can then result in constipation in some cases. I recommend you add 1 teaspoon of canned pumpkin to his meals which can help with mild cases of constipation. Good luck and have a good one!
