hi , i have a chihuahua/yorkie and he is a month and a half. i literally just got him yesterday and i was wondering what should i feed him ? i have been giving him warm milk and i just gave him a little puppy pedigree with warm milk mixed in . also i nees to get his shots is there a place i can do that for free? please let me know i dont wana upset his stomach or do anything wrong

Congrats on your new puppy! Cow's milk is not good for puppies, it causes GI upset so do not give that to Sir. You can mix in a puppy formula with his food, I recommend KMR brand. You can get it at the grocery store or pet store. To help him get used to dry food, I would soak a high quality puppy formulated dry food in warm water until soft. Then mix that with the puppy formula to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry puppy food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until he is eating the dry puppy food only. As for free shots, no there are no places that give free vaccines. There are low cost clinics, and I will put a link below on how to find one in your area. At four weeks old your puppy would start to be weaned by his mother so I recommend to introduce canned puppy food and puppy kibble that is soaked in formula. Ideally this is puppy formula and not cows or goats milk. Royal Canin makes a food for puppies this age called baby dog or starter puppy. Take a look at the package and it will tell you the age at which to use the food. Most puppies are weaned by the time they are 6 to 7 weeks of age. Vaccines start between 6 to 8 weeks of age. Coco isn't old enough for her first shots until she is at least 6 weeks of age. She needs a puppy formulated food. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams.

Congrats on your new addition! Ideally, she should be physically examined by your veterinarian within 3 days of arriving home to confirm good health or to diagnose and treat any preexisting conditions. At the very least, she will likely need to be dewormed. Vaccines can start around 6 weeks of age and will continue every 4 weeks until about 16 weeks of age. Discuss monthly parasite prevention with your vet to protect against worms, fleas, ticks and heartworm. Feed a good quality puppy food. Look for brands such as Canidae, Acana or Merrick. You can feed according tot the directions on the bag, just know that each puppy is different and you may need to adjust the amount if Coqueta is gaining too much weight or not enough weight. Avoid store or discount brands as these may contain low quality ingredients and more fillers. Puppies typically need to go about about 20-30 minutes after eating, sleeping or playing. Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Vaccinations are required at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age. Your vet will tell you what vaccines are required in your country and area. Deworming is required every 2 weeks from the age of 2 weeks old, to 3 months old, and then monthly. As wonderful that it is that your family is vegetarian, dogs are not. Some diets that are vegetarian can be dangerous to dogs as they don't get some of the nutrients they required. I recommend that you get a dog kibble for Leo that is well balanced, and you can add vegetables to this if you like. Especially as a growing puppy, just rice and milk is NOT ok. They need a diet that has the proper nutrients in the right ratios. Please get a good quality puppy food. Best of luck with Leo! Have fun with him!

Jackey is very cute. Do not give him cow's milk, it's not appropriate for dogs. It's also not nutritionally balanced for him, and it won't fill him up, leading him to cry for more food. He needs to be weaned onto a puppy food. To help him wean and to get used to dry food, I would soak a high quality puppy formulated dry food in warm water until soft. I want to what to give about 2 months puppy to eat, everybody says not to give milk but if you want to give, provide them milk with Same amount of water. I want to know how to train a 2 month puppy.
This is true. Puppies this old cannot ingest milk so it is likely to just go straight through them and cause diarrhea. The best thing to give 2 month old puppies is a beginner puppy food such as Royal Canin --> https://www.royalcanin.com/us/dogs/products/retail-products/small-starter-mother-and-babydog-dry-dog-food This food is meant for puppies up to 2 months of age. Once they are going on 9 weeks old, then you can slowly transition them to a regular puppy formula food (dry or wet). Hello. Great questions! Vaccinations are given at 8,1 2 and 16 weeks of age. So, if he got his 8 week vaccines already, then you need to take him at 12 weeks of age. How much food he should be eating depends on what food you are feeding him and how much he weighs. If you want to post again with that information we can maybe help you better. Puppies can eat meat, however it is best to feed them a complete puppy food for small to medium sized dogs, Ask the person who gave you the dog who their vet was. You can then ask this vet to send paper work telling you whether your puppy was vaccinated or not. If you cannot get that information it is safer to have her go through the whole basic vaccination process (3 courses of vaccination).

Congrats! I would just schedule a wellness visit with your vet soon so they can make sure he is healthy and no obvious issues. I would make sure he is on a large breed puppy food and that he is eating 2-3 times per day. I would go ahead and start crate training him if you are planning to do this to help house break him. If his 1st set of shots were given before he was 6 weeks old, then there is a good chance your vet may want to repeat his 1st set of shots simply because any shots given before 6 weeks technically don't count. Congrats on a new puppy! Some vaccines are based on lifestyle and your region. Your vet will consult with you and recommend vaccines based on lifestyle. Core vaccines are DHP/PV (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvo. This must be boostered every 3 weeks until 14-16 weeks old. Rabies is given once a year at 12 weeks or older. Bordatella is usually given once every 6-12 months. Optional vaccines are leptospirosis which is a fatal bacterial infection that can cause kidney and liver failure and is spread by wildlife. I see this in my area and strongly recommend it, it can also infect people! Lymes vaccine is optional and important in areas where this disease is prevalent. Canine influenza vaccine is also important if you live in areas with outbreaks or travel with your pet, or go to doggie daycare. Fecals and deworming is important and is usually done during vaccines.
