My dog is always restless and won't sit still. What can I do?

My dog Dallas he never sits down, when out of his cage, he walks around all day I can him to sit he will but only fir a minute, then he is back up sniffing all the carpet again I think he has covered the same area over, and over. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | 11 months and 25 days old | 2.7 lbs

Dallas is really cute! Chihuahuas can have a lot of energy and also be very curious. Also, some can be very anxious and not want to sit and relax. If he isn't neutered, this may help this behavior but not always. Also, you could try some Benadryl twice a day to see if this calms him at all. See link below. If this doesn't help, I would talk to your vet about trying some anti-anxiety meds like fluoxetine or trazadone. I hope this helps!
