Why is my Betta fish not eating, throwing up, and has white spots?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Fish | Unknown - Fish | Male

I have a delta tail Betta that I got on Saturday. He seems to be doing fine in the tank but he is not eating. Whenever I feed him the food he throws it up. He also has little white spots on his head. Do you have an idea of what is going on with him? Thanks for your help.

The pellets may be too big or he may be too cold. Bettas do best between 78 F and 80 F. Try offering Micro Pellets and soak them in garlic juice to stimulate his appetite. If possible, turn down the filter flow to minimize any current. Bettas do not like a strong current, preferring slow moving waters.
