My dog has diarrhea and won't eat. Is it the new food? Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dutch Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 29 days old | 15 lbs

I’m wondering if I need to take my dog into the vet immediately. He has had diarrhea twice today. And loss of apeitite. I’m also working on transitioning his food by adding a little of the other brand each day he is on the third day of that

Poor Kodak! Not immediately. Try feeding him a a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, then he will need to see a vet right away.
