My puppy is breathing loud, sleepy, and has no energy. What's wrong?

hi, my puppy dex is breathing really loud lately today he has been really dopey and down and keeps sleeping. he has no energy won’t bark or play i’m not sure what to do right now. Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male

I am sorry to hear about Dex. It sounds like he could be sick and need veterinary care. If he is breathing strangely this could potentially be a sign of a respiratory (lung)infection or a problem with his upper airway (such as his nose or the back of his throat). Being dopey/down and sleepy can also be signs of an illness. I would recommend bringing Dex in to his vet for an exam. They can use a stethescope to listen to his heart and lungs to check for abnormalities, feel his neck and look in his nose and throat. Depending on their exam findings they may recommend testing such as an x-ray or blood work to check for a cause of his symptoms. Best of luck to you and Dex!
