My puppy breathes fast, jerks, and pants hard in sleep. Is it normal?

I have a 13 week old lab, pit mix. (Jenson) he seems to get hot when he sleeps, and breathes fast and hard, and his nose gets hot. He also jerks cries, and paints (spelling?) really hard in his sleep. Is that normal?

This sounds like normal puppy dreams and is nothing to worry about. Puppies tend to have very vivid dreams doing things they would be doing if they were awake, such as running, jumping, barking and playing. As long as he is acting normal when completely awake, then he is just fine. Thanks for visiting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best wishes and take care.
