My cat broke a nail and it's bleeding. When should I see a vet?

Hi, my 1yo DSH cat has broken her claw somehow, she isn’t showing any signs of discomfort but it is bleeding, I’m concerned for her and want to know if she needs to be taken to an after hours vet or if it can wait until the morning?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Max. She will need to see a veterinarian as she may require antibiotics to prevent an infection in the nail bed. The veterinarian may also bandage the paw to help keep it clean. If you can stop the bleeding, she can be during normal hours in the morning. If it is bleeding excessively or will not stop, then she will need to be seen soon. You can try to apply light pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding. I hope this information helps!
