My dog ate a bandaid from an infected wound. Will he get sick?

I have an infected wound with pus my dog got a hold of the bandaid I used from the garbage. Can he get sick from this ?

The bandaid itself could make Scout's stomach upset, but it won't give him an infection. If you do see some GI upset, withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. Otherwise he should be just fine. I hope this helps!

My dog just ate a small band aid should I be worried about it
You can give your vet a call, and bring Justice in for the vet to induce vomiting if she ate the bandaid within the past 2 hours. If it has been over 2 hours, all you can do is wait and see what happens. You will need to keep an eye on your dog’s stools to see if the object passes through your dogs system as well as for signs of fresh blood or mucus. Fresh blood or mucus indicates inflammation within the large intestine while dark black or tarry looking stools indicate bleeding in the upper digestive tract. If your dog’s stools become black then your dog should see a vet immediately. If your dog begins to vomit, has a lot of diarrhea, becomes unresponsive to you or squats without having a bowel movement then you should take her to the vet immediately as well. As long as your dog is acting normally just monitor your dog closely to be sure the object passes through your dog's system. It probably will pass through his system with no problem though.

Don't worry, this is unlikely to cause any issues. Most small pieces of plastic and cloth and other material pass just fine in the stool, if the puppy doesn't vomit it up first. If Snowball is vomiting over and over again tonight or tomorrow, or doesn't seem herself, then she should see a vet. Otherwise, she'll likely be just fine! Hope that helps!

I wrapped my dogs foot in powerflex bandage and when I came home he had taken it off but I can't find it anywhere. Should I be worried if he ate it?
I'd agree that this is definitely a concern. Many dogs eat bandages. Typically the material passes through normally but do monitor him closely for any GI distress - vomiting, reluctance to eat, diarrhea - that might indicate it's having trouble passing.

My dog found a 0.5 ounce plastic bottle of neosporin last night, chewed it up and consumed some (maybe 10-20%). This was around 11pm but he's been fine since. Pooed and peed fine this morning too. Is there anything to be concerned about? Thanks!
He will likely be just fine after ingesting this. Just monitor him for the next 24 hrs for any stomach upset symptoms (vomiting and/or diarrhea). A bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice can be tried to settle his stomach. If his stomach upset is more severe than a vet visit can help him get back to normal status. My german shepard is suffering from stomach infection.. doesnt eat anything but like chiken bones a lot. Is it ok to give him chiken now?
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm sorry to hear about Shaggy. I would not recommend giving him chicken bones, as these can be very irritating to the stomach and intestines and slow healing or resolution of his stomach disease. You can offer him a bland diet of boiled chicken meat and rice (no bones), in a ratio of 2 parts rice to 1 part meat (no bones). This may help soothe his stomach. If he does not eat for longer than 24 hours, I recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian. He/she may recommend blood work to evaluate for a systemic cause of his vomiting, and/or x-rays of his abdomen to look for evidence of foreign material or even an obstruction in his intestines, which can be a surgical emergency. My husband picked a scab off my Yorkie poo last night and it left a little hole. We put Neosporin on it a couple of times today and she acted fine. Now she is acting quiet and just threw up. Should I be concerned

I would recommend initiating a bland diet as outlined below after withholding food for 8 hours. If the vomiting continues or she worsens sooner, I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. If she worsens, it is possible that the hole in the skin is due to an insect bite and she is having an allergic reaction. My dog ate a chicken bone 2 days ago . He does seem himself but he is a quiet dog anyway. I have been checking his poo and it has changed but I can’t see any bones in it. He was also sick this morning but no bones just liquid. What would you advise?
Hello, chicken bones are hollow and thus easier to digest. They can however cause inflammation and irritation of the GI tract. You may never see the bones come out as they may have been broken down. You can obtain an x-ray of his abdomen to check for bones. In the interim you should feed him a bland diet made of plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken, and low fat cottage cheese for the next 3-5 days. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Do not let Scout keep cleaning it, this will lead to infection in the area and will make things worse. Put an Ecollar on him to keep him from licking it. You can make one at home, and I will put a link below on how to do this. Bandage it, but not too tight. Change the bandage daily, and make sure it stays dry and clean. My German shepherd ate the piece of plastic/paper that chicken lays on on top of the styrofoam platter, will she be okay?
It could be a problem. If that paper happens to get waded in just the wrong way then it could cause an intestinal obstruction. Monitor Scout very closely for vomiting, not eating well or having decreased energy levels. Keep in mind that the clinical signs for intestinal obstruction can vary between pets. Additionally, the paper contains bacteria from the raw chicken and this can also cause similar signs to an obstruction. If you see any potential signs of illness I recommend to have Scout examined immediately. An x-ray can help to determine if a potential obstruction is present. Be checking the stool daily for passage of the paper so you know it is clear. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
