My 2-year-old Betta is at the tank bottom. What's wrong with him?

Hi I have a 2yr old Betta, one day he was swimming very actively and 2 minutes later he was at the bottom of the tank not moving but sleeping and he has been doing this everyday every hour of the day for 4 days I'm worried about him Idk what's wrong with him Idk if he is sick, please help me, he means a lot too me

Check the water chemistry for elevated ammonia or nitrite levels. Perform partial water changes until the ammonia or nitrites read 0 ppm. Next, check the water temperature. Bettas do best between 78F and 80F. Low temps can affect activity in fish. At 2 years old, he is quite old for a Betta. His behavior may be age related.
