Can my skinny nursing cat turn milk replacer into her own milk?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 9 days old | 59 lbs

My cat just had her kittens yesterday gave birth to 7 she is very skinny and has not much milk and the kittens are healthy just to make sure we got milk replacement, if we give it to the mom will she turn that milk into her milk?

No, giving Muffin milk replacement will not turn that milk into her milk. It's concerning she is very skinny, and she needs a kitten formulated dry food to eat while nursing. The kitten food will give her added calories, protein, and calcium to support nursing her kittens, and I would run out to get that food now. Leave a bowl out of that for her to eat as needed. It's very important she is healthy to support nursing her kittens, so I would also recommend a visit with the vet in the next day or two for a health check. Be sure to bring her kittens with her. Milk replacement for cats is fine to give her, but please know it's very serious when a cat won't eat. If they go long enough without eating (about 72 hours), they will develop a fatty liver. A fatty liver is fatal without treatment. You need to take her into a vet now, especially since she is nursing kittens. She may have a severe post-partum illness. Take her kittens with you to the vet.

Homemade diets are very hard to get the correct balance nutrients and calories needed, especially for cats. Minhu needs extra calories, calcium, and protein to support nursing kittens. She should be on a kitten food. Feed her that, and definitely take her into a vet. Best of luck.

She does look underweight, when was the cat she is nursing from pregnant? the milk will be sufficient only if the cat she is nursing from gave birth in the past few weeks, if not then you must feed her with kitten milk replacer which you can get from the pet shop.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Goldie. Being so young will place a huge strain on her body. She is trying to support kittens while she herself is still growing. She needs to eat a high quality kitten food. Dry and wet food should be offered. The canned food will provide her with more moisture. This helps to support milk production. Most kittens can start eating solid food between 3-5 weeks of age. I hope this information helps!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your cat. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian today. She will need a large amount of calories to produce enough milk for the kittens. Feeding her kitten food will help. It is palatable and contains higher fat, protein and calories. The veterinarian will examine her. Sometimes x-rays are taken to ensure that she delivered all the kittens. She will be checked for an infection such as mastitis as well. I hope this information helps!

Try tuna fish or salmon. It has a stringer odor and often times they like this. If she eats it well you can start mixing the juice to regular dry food to get her used to that. If she is still being picky and licks milk you try adding that to dry food and see if will eats some soaked in it

I have two 6 month old kittens and their mother. One of the kittens has been struggling to adjust to eating solid food and gain weight. He is about 3/4 the size of his brother and his coat is noticably less full and soft. It took him to about 8 weeks
At six months of age, Ritsu is way past the point of needing to nurse from his mother, and I would not encourage that behavior by giving him kitten milk replacement. It can take some kittens up to eight weeks of age to fully wean, and that's normal. He may be trying to nurse off of her for comfort, but it is concerning he's having trouble gaining weight. First thing to do is to make sure he's eating a high quality kitten formulated food, such as Hills Science diet or Royal Canin. You can try soaking the dry food in gently warmed low sodium chicken or beef broth, or tuna juice to tempt him to eat the dry food. If that works, then slowly reduce the amount of liquid you soak his food in until he's eating the dry only. Also make sure he is up to date on his deworming treatments, as intestinal worms will prevent him from gaining weight. Finally, I would have him seen by a vet for a health check. The vet can identify if there is a medical issues causing him to gain weight, such as an

There is nothing specific you can give Bella to increase her milk supply. I would give her a kitten formulated food, as diet can sometimes help. You likely will need to supplement the kittens with KMR (kitten milk replacement). I would go get some now as well as bottles to feed the kittens. Best of luck.
