Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 9 months and 20 days old | 10 lbs
My cat’s appetite has decreased dramatically after his first weekend without us (we did a quick weekend trip and left him at a special cat hotel). He’s always been a picky eater, but would consistently finish his Orijen Cat and Kitten dry food. For the past day and half, he’s only eaten a quarter to half of what he usually does, shows zero interest in wet food and seems “messier” than usual. Should I be concerned or is he still getting over the weekend?

I would be a little concerned. If the appetite doesn’t return to normal by tomorrow then I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. He may be brewing an upper respiratory infection which is common in cats who have been stressed. He may be running a fever but no outward signs yet. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
