Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 65 lbs
My dog is about 11 yrs old. Might be older (he was adopted). He’s had this growth on the top of his left paw for a few months. It hadn’t changed until now. He keeps licking it it’s larger, and now more red and fleshy. His behavior has changed as well.

This certainly looks like a mass that should be examined by your veterinarian ASAP. It is not possible to say from a photo whether it is benign or malignant, but black masses on the paws very often are malignant. Your vet will decide whether to take it off right away in its entirety or whether to do a biopsy first and send it in to a lab. Please do not let Dane lick it, as he may cause bacteria to enter any abrasions on the mass and cause an infection.
