Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 8 years old | 90 lbs
My dog is a German Shepard, 8 years old and about 90 pounds. He got into the garbage and ate about 8 small chicken bones. This was about 4/5 days ago but I am now noticing he has almost like a short cramp in his stomach it looks like he hiccups sometimes. But I am just wondering if I am over thinking and he will pass the bones or if I should go to the vet? I haven’t seen any bones in his poo but it is pretty big so it could be in there.

Hi, were the chicken bones cooked ? If so they are more likely to cause a problem. If he is still passing feaces, and no vomiting the bones are not causing any problem yet, I would just continue to monitor when he goes to the toilet and make sure he is not straining, and that there isn’ t any blood in feaces. if he should be uncomfortable, not eating or even vomiting, or straining to go to the toilet, or passing smaller amount of feaces/diarrhoea, then I would recommend to have him checked over. Hope this makes sense !
