My dog is sneezing, coughing, runny nose. Is it a normal dog cold?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | neutered | 2 years and 10 months old | 32 lbs

My dog doesn't have a fever, he's eating, drinking, playing, acting mostly like himself. However, he is sneezing, reverse sneezing, coughing and has an extremely runny nose. This has been going on for about a week, I'll take him to the vet, but I want to know if this is normal in a cold dogs have? Should I wait a bit to go to the vet as it might pass? Thank you!

That is a lot of nasal discharge. Even though he seems otherwise fine that is somewhat worrisome. I suggest you get him to the vet for an exam. I would not consider this normal for a dog with a "cold" or allergies.
