The most common cause for this in a kitten that otherwise feels good is intestinal parasites. You can try an OTC dewormer from a petstore or take Litchi in to the vet for evaluation. Other possible causes could include a bacterial or viral infection (such as Panleukopenia), dietary intolerance, bleeding disorder, etc.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Hoor. She could have intestinal parasites, an intestinal infection, or she could be straining to defecate as a result of either diarrhea or constipation. She will need to see a veterinarian if her the blood in her stool persists. This is especially true if she is acting ill. I hope this information helps!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Diarrhea and/or blood in the stool can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Sushi evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may choose to check for parasites and to start medications to help with the symptoms depending on the results. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

I am so sorry that Silk is not feeling well. Blood in the stool, vomiting and diarrhea can happen for many different reasons. It can be new food, stress, parasites. It can also be stomach or intestinal blockages if he is the kind of kitty that chews on or swallows things he shouldn't such as toys, string, stuffing, plastic. Because he's got these signs and not acting himself, I agree that he should be examined by a veterinarian. They may recommend a fecal exam to look for parasites and possibly recommend blood work and x-rays to look for other possible causes of vomiting and diarrhea. Good luck and I hope that Silk feels better soon!
