My dog has diarrhea, vomiting, and won't eat or drink. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 7 lbs

My dog trigger is still having diarrhea and now is vomiting more. He strains so much when pooping... He sometimes refuses to drink water and Pedialyte. Finally got him to eat piece of bouled chicken last night but he still is not himself and still refusing to drink and now eat again. He looks so sad

Poor guy. Trigger is too ill and needs to see a vet immediately. SOme possibel causes for his illness includes: a foreign body obstruction or partial obstruction, parvovirus, or a severe bacterial infection. He needs injectable medications that he won't vomit back up and also some tests to find out the underlying cause for his illness. I hope that your pet Trigger is able to make a full and speedy recovery soon! Best wishes and take care.
