Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 4 months old | 65 lbs
My young dog has recently had two seizures over the course of a week and a half. He is three years old and has never had any other health problem besides ear infections. He recently has been rubbing his face with his paws, but I don't know if that has any correlation to the seizures. Why could he be getting these seizures?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Gladstone. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. He will likely need laboratory work to try to determine if there is an underlying cause of his seizures. Low blood sugar or severe liver disease can cause seizures for example. Many times the laboratory work is normal though. In this case, referral to a neurologist is possible. Many dogs in his age bracket though are diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. This is a seizure disorder with no identifiable underlying cause. He may require medication though depending in the frequency of the seizures. I hope this information helps!
