My chicken's foot is swollen, warm, and blistered. Is it Bumblefoot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Chicken | Female | unspayed

Not sure if my chicken has Bumblefoot. No sign of trauma to cause the infection but she is favoring on foot. It’s currently swollen and warm with several blisters that will leak clear fluid. Only treatment I’ve done so far is soaking in an epsom bath.

Thanks for reaching out about Chicken and including photos. Bumblefoot is usually only on the bottom of the foot and is not a blister. First thought would be a viral infection, maybe pox. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Continue with the epsom salts. Good luck.
