Cat losing fur on leg with bare patch and open sore. What's wrong?

On the inside of our cats leg the fur is off leaving a bare patch like an open sore about 25mm round. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 14 years and 10 months old | 6 lbs

That looks like an infection and I recommend to have Dash examined. Lesions like this can be due to infected bite wounds, cancer or a blockage of the lymphatic system. Dash also needs to wear an elizabethan collar at all times to prevent licking. Have him examined today. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
