Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 6 months old | 65 lbs
Hello. Chester has been losing hair around his eyes for a couple weeks now. I thought it may possibly be allergies as this happens every year, but not year round. I just got home and noticed blood/scabbing around the eyes which wasnt there this morning. Acting/eating/drinking normally. Not lethargic or more tired than usual. Any ideas?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chester. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. If the lesions occur every year at this time, then a seasonal allergy is likely. Food allergies though can cause irritation around the eyes. Finally, there are autoimmune skin diseases that can affect the same area. His veterinarian will carefully examine him and then make testing or treatment recommendations. In the meantime, place an E-collar on him to prevent him from rubbing his eyes. I hope this information helps!
