My cat is not eating, drinking lots, peeing. How can I help her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed

I need help with my cat. She's not eating, just licking a little bit of watered down wet food, and drinking a lot of water, peed herself twice, won't leave the spot she's in. I'm waiting for my friend to wake up and have a bit of time to drive me to a vet, if he can lend me some money, but how do I take care of her until then? I gave her a bath, and she's laying on a towel. We've had a summer of heatwaves, but I only noticed she wasn't eating yesterday, because my other cat eats her food.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Oreo. I agree that she see needs to see a veterinarian. Drinking more water and urinating more frequently can be a sign of diabetes, kidney disease or even a thyroid problem. Her veterinarian will examine her and likely collect blood and urine testing to determine the cause of her symptoms. In the meantime, do not restrict access to water and keep her clean as you have done. I hope this information helps!
