Why are my cat's eyes red, swollen, discharging, and she sleeps a lot?

My cat has a red swollen eye and whitish discharge it started in one eye and now i noticed her keep both eyes shut and prefer darkness. she also has been sleeping for 5 hours now, is that normal? Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | 3 months and 4 days old

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. I highly recommend that you have Shiro evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!
