My puppy has white eye discharge that won't go away. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 6 years and 2 months old | 4 lbs

My little puppy has some white gooish stuff coming out of the corner of her eyes, I clean her face and eyes regularly and the stuff continues coming out. I'm worried about her, she's also vaccinated against diseases and parvo virus. I would be grateful if you could help me out & advice what to do. What do you think it might be?

Discolored discharge from the eyes can indicate issues such as an infection in the eye or respiratory tract, injury to the eye, irritation from allergies, problems with the eyelids, or the environment, etc. Since it keeps returning even with keeping the eye clear at home, it would be best to have it checked by your vet in person. They can look for signs of injury or infection and prescribe medication as needed to help it resolve.
