My dog has itchy, bumpy, red skin and a fever. What should I do?

Candy has developed bumpy skin in many parts of her body accompanied with continuous itching. I can see redness in her hind legs as well. She is also scratching her vagina. Body temp seems more than normal. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 10 days old | 50 lbs

Candy could be having an allergic reaction or had something like mites in her skin. I recommend to call her veterinarian and ask about using an antihistamine although they may want to see her first. Online veterinarians are not allowed to discuss the use of human medication in pets due to pharmacy law so only your normal veterinarian can provide that information.
