Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 10 days old | 50 lbs

Candy has developed bumpy skin in many parts of her body accompanied with continuous itching. I can see redness in her hind legs as well. She is also scratching her vagina. Body temp seems more than normal.

Candy could be having an allergic reaction or had something like mites in her skin. I recommend to call her veterinarian and ask about using an antihistamine although they may want to see her first. Online veterinarians are not allowed to discuss the use of human medication in pets due to pharmacy law so only your normal veterinarian can provide that information. Another thing you can do that will help is start her on an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for pets and make sure she is on a good flea prevention. I hope this helps and best of luck.
