Dog ear rash: What causes dry, flaky skin inside my dog's ear?

Hi, My dog has a strange rash on her ear that looks like it's gone through from the outside to the inside in one spot. It's dry and flaky. First picture is the inside of her ear. Second picture is the outside. I'm curious to know what could cause this. Pet's info: Dog | Portuguese Podengo | Female | spayed | 30 lbs
