Why is my new cat drooling thick saliva and not eating or drinking?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat named gus keeps on drooling out thick and clumpy clear saliva and he isn't eating or drinking. We just got him and we have 5 cats, is it maybe because he's scared or nervous?

No, it is more likely that he has a dental issue or some kind of problem inside his mouth. I suggest you get him to the vet for an exam. Cats cannot go too long without eating or drinking or their liver starts to get damaged.
