Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 2 years and 4 months old | 74 lbs
He hasn't had fully formed stools since he was 7 mo. He stool is often loose or patty like. I've tried lower fat foods and different proteins, giving all foods 3 months before change. Tried psyllium husk, pumpkin, glandex, and firm up and just feeding less and nothing works. Now he cannot empty is anal glands properly because of his loose stool. No parasites either. What should I try to help firm up his stool? Any specific dogs foods to try? Supplements?

I recommend to speak with your veterinarian about a fecal culture, a diet trial with a hydrolyzed protein diet, and testing his pancreatic enzyme levels. If he has not been tested for protozoal parasites, I recommend to have this done as well. Think back to if you conducted a proper food trial. During this time when Otis is eating the new diet, he should not have eaten any other treats or even flavored Pet toothpaste. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
