My cat's eye has recurring discharge but he seems fine. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 12.4 lbs

So I came home and my cats eye looked like this... this isn’t the first time this has happened at first I thought he got into something but it keeps occurring. It doesn’t seem to be bothering him which is what I find odd. What would you suggest? I know I should probably take him in and get him checked out but what can I do for him until I can get into see a vet

Thank you for providing a picture, it really helps with my answer. It could be Biscuits (LOVE his name, and he's so cute!) has an eye infection or allergies causing the discharge. Yes, this definitely needs to be checked out by a vet, but until you can get him in, use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away any discharge. I hope this helps!
