Why does my newborn puppy have a yellow rough spot on its belly?

I have a newborn puppy that has a yellow rough spot on the bottom of its belly and I have no idea what it is please help. Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 3 days old | 1lb

Poor girl. Yellow excoriations on the skin typically are a sign of either a bacterial or fungal infection. These are more common in puppies because their immune system is still developing. Pup will have to see your local vet to get this looked at and then prescribed the appropriate medication to help resolve the infection. I hope that your pet Pup resolves her skin infection soon! In the meantime just clean the area with Betadine (from local pharmacy) diluted 50:50 with warm water to keep the infection down. Best of luck and take care.
