Dog crying at door after fireworks, happy outside. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Female | spayed

Daisy keeps crying, she stands in front of the door and cries. As soon as I go outside she's ok shes happy she jumps around and is playful. There was alot of fireworks last night unfortunately I couldn't bring her inside since I had family over who is highly allergic to dogs. But I made sure the dogs were covered, and safe. In the past years shes good during fireworks, what could be the problem? Could it be because of the fire work or something else?

It definitely could be because of the fireworks, especially if she is not used to them or was separated from you during them when she is normally with you instead. I would give her a couple days to calm down and see if that helps. If the strange behavior continues even after a few days of no more fireworks, a visit to your vet to rule out any health issues is always a good idea as well.
