My puppy ate a balloon. Why is his stool dark or black? Is it normal?

My puppy ate a broken small balloon it's come out in the stool but stool was dark brown nearly black is this normal. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

Dark tarry stools can be a sign of bleeding in the intestinal tract, so I would recommend monitoring your puppy closely and if the stools continue to have this appearance, or if he stops eating, vomits, or becomes weak he should see the veterinarian.
