Hello‚my pup has been diagnosed with distemper just now and he is just 4 months old. We are giving him his prescribed medicine. What are the chances of him surviving? And how long does distemper usually last? Thank you

So sorry to hear this. I cannot really answer this questions as there are too many variables. Recovery can be anywhere from 1 to 4 months. If he has not shown any neurological symptoms as of this time, then he has a better chance at recovery. If neurological signs are seen, then there is less chance at survival. If you play the odds, most dogs do survive however, some will have life-long side effects (abnormally colored teeth, tremors, etc).
