My dog's ears are itchy with black wax & pain, but vets say nothing?

My 8 year old jack Russell constantly has itchy ears with loads of black wax in them when it gets bad she is in pain and wincing when we touch but vets say that their is nothing wrong? Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Female | spayed | 7 years and 9 months old

If she seems to be in pain, I recommend to get a second opinion. Ear infections and foreign objects in the ears can both cause these physical symptoms including pain. Insist on testing the wax for infections and having the ears cleaned followed by an exam of the ear canal with an otoscope. Best of luck.
