My dog's paws are red from licking. How do I stop him when I'm away?

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | neutered | 3 years and 11 months old | 14 lbs

My dog keeps licking his paws and they are turning red. I stop him from doing it when im home but when im gone he dont stop. What do i do?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Buddy. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. He needs to have the underlying problem identified and treated to get him to stop licking. He could be experiencing seasonal allergies, an infection, insect bite, etc. His veterinarian will likely prescribe medication to make him feel better. In the meantime, place an E-collar on him when you are not able to supervise him. Additional licking will only make the problem worse. I hope this information helps!
