My found budgie is sick, unresponsive, and not eating. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I found a budgie on my driveway today. He has been very docile today, slept a lot and is now on the bottom of his cage with his feet up and back, not standing on them... not very responsive although earlier today he was walking on my finger.... I'd be likely to make it? He ate a little seed and millet that was soaked in water but is not interested in anything now.

His symptoms may indicate illness or injury. By the time a bird is showing symptoms, the underlying condition may be quite serious. It would be to his benefit to be examined by your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian. If either is diagnosed, the appropriate treatment can be administered. For now, keep him warm and as stress free as possible.
