My dog has a small lump on her shoulder. Is it a scab or tumor?

I was shaving my dog Mopsy and noticed a lump the size of a dime on her right shoulder. It is noticeable if you feel it, but you can't really see it. What could it be? A scab? A place where she got a vaccine? (She has not had one in a while) A tumor? Thanks. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 4 years and 3 months old | 33 lbs

Pets can get many types of lumps and bumps. Most of these tumors will be benign but some will be malignant and you can't tell by looks. The doctor may recommend to aspirate the mass to examine the cells under a microscope. That is one of the best ways to know what it is and if further action is needed. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
