My dog's spay stitches look infected. Is it safe to wait for the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 months and 17 days old | 15 lbs

My dog was neutered and where her stitches are it looks like it’s infected. Her vet appointment isn’t until Saturday. I’m curious if she will be okay until then or if I need to take her in right away?

There is a mild inflammation and swelling, but no clear signs of infections are present at this stage (at least from what I can see from the pic). I think he can possibly wait until saturday, unless more swelling and redness and discharge is seen in the wound area.
