Why is my cat drinking so much water? Is it because of dry food?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | 1 year and 1 month old | 7 lbs

Got a 14 month old female cat from a rescue group 2 weeks ago. I have never had a cat that drank so much water. She likes a lot a dry food, could this be why?

Every pet is different. Some drink a lot of water and some do not. Dry food has less moisture so cats who eat dry food do you need to drink more water than cats who eat canned food. The only way to know if everything is normal is to have her kidneys and urine checked. You may call the rescue group and ask if this was done and if the results were normal. I hope this helps.
