Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Female | 1 year and 1 month old | 12 lbs
Hi just adopted a 1 year old Chihuahua shortlist mix. She had previous flea infestation which resulted in skin and hair loss issues. She is almost always a teaching or nibbling at her neck legs and bottom area. What can we do to help? We have bathed her 2x with oatmeal shampoo and gently brush her coat to remove up her dry skin each morning.

Congratulations on adding Roxy to your family! The most important thing you can do is keep her on a good flea preventative such as Simparica or Nexgard. Adding an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for dogs to her diet can also help. If the itching continues, it’s possible she has underlying allergies and I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian. Best of luck.
