Yes, there are many diseases which can cause bloody diarrhea including parasites and bacterial infections! At 3 months old, your puppy is still not old enough to have finished all her vaccines and be fully protected but each vaccine does give her some protection. I recommend to play it safe and have Snowball examined and tested for parvovirus. She will likely get an antibiotic for the bloody diarrhea as well. A bland diet would be helpful and make sure she is drinking plenty of water. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat only chicken breast and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. Here is a link with information about puppyhood vaccines. Your local veterinarian may have additional information and suggestions based on your location: https://www.petcoach.co/article/vaccination-recommendations-for-puppies-puppy-shots/ I hope Snowball starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions!

She may still have parvo and I suggest you take her back to the vet in the morning. If she gets lethargic or if her condition deteriorates, you need to take her to a pet ER. She could also have hookworms or giardiasis, both intestinal parasites which can cause intestinal bleeding. Make sure she eats and drinks.

What a sweet face! I'm sorry to hear that Pandora is having some diarrhea with blood. I am glad to hear that she's still playful, and is eating and drinking. It is possible that it's Parvo, but it may also be bacterial colitis, (inflammation of the colon), it may be due to what we call dietary indiscretion (meaning she's eating wood chips, rummaging through the trash, eating dead bunnies, etc), or a number of other causes. If she's eating and drinking, playful, and she's not had any vomiting, make an appointment with your vet at your first convenience; its not an emergency but she should still be seen. Take a stool sample with you. Feed her a bland diet at home until your appointment (plain cooked chicken and white rice is a good choice). If she starts vomiting, if the diarrhea is very watery or very frequent, is she stops eating or starts to act like she doesn't feel well (less playful, lethargic) then it becomes urgent and she should be seen on an emergency basis. Dogs who have been vaccinated for Parvo can still potentially contract it, though the disease is often less severe if they've been vaccinated. The likelihood of getting Parvo is also affected by the age at which the last vaccine was given. 1 vaccine at 8 or 10 weeks of age is not sufficient; typically the last vaccine should be given somewhere around 16 weeks of age. I hope that helps you! Thanks for asking Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
