In general, cooked food is significantly safer than raw food which may contains parasites and bacteria which can cause a severe infection. all dogs are susceptible to malnutrition when diets are not balanced. Pregnant females and their developing/growing puppies are especially susceptible. I recommend to feed a high quality, fortified, balanced commercial diet such as Royal Canin or Purina because it is formulated to contain all the needed vitamins and minerals with the proper ratios.
