Can I deworm my pups at home? Their first deworming is at vet's can I continue the following deworm at home? And is drontal plus safe for small puppies age 9 weeks weighing 1.2kg? Hi there. Yes, you should be able to deworm your puppies at home if you want to. Drontal Plus is approved for use in puppies at least 3 weeks of age and weighing at least 2 pounds - so if your pups are 9 weeks old and weigh 1.2 kg (approximately 2.6 pounds), it should be fine to use. Follow the dosing instructions on the medication label. A 2.6 pound puppy should get 1/2 of a tablet, according to the label instructions.
