Husky has red eye with crusty green discharge. Allergies or infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 129 lbs

Hi there. Within the last day or two, I’ve noticed that my husky’ Eyes have been more red, but more so her left eye. There is always green/yellow discharge with Crust. I’m trying to determine if she needs a full exam or if it’s something like allergies.

I recommend to have Meeka examined by her veterinarian. Green/yellow discharge indicates a bacterial infection. If it has been present for more than a few days, it's likely she needs some antibiotics to clear the infection. Make sure to protect the eye from rubbing. She may need to wear an elizabethan collar at all times. Best of luck.
