My dog has a soft lump under her eye. What is it, when to see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 13 years old | 8 lbs

There is a lump underneath my dog’s left eye she doesn’t seem to be in pain when I touch but she does try to avoid my hand by looking the other way. It’s not hard but I do have concerns on what it is and if it’s threatening and what are possible ways to treat it.

If Amy tries to avoid your hand when you go to touch it, that tells me it bothers her. It could be a dental problem, or it could be a growth of some sorts. I would take her into the vet on Monday. The vet can diagnose what is causing it, and can treat it. I hope this helps!
